A seven-speed dual clutch automated-manual transmission helps regulate the 4.5L naturally aspirated V8 engine. The 458 Spider produces a stunning 562 hp at 9,000 rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm while reaching a top speed of 199 mph, featuring the signature Ferrari soundtrack. Ferrari 458 Spider Exterior Design

The Ferrari Styling Center along with Pininfarina developed the 458 Spider to offer the freedom of open-sky driving for its driver and passenger.

Constructed from lightweight materials, the low and aggressively slanted nose, dramatic sweeping side panels, and muscular rear end all work together to form visual appeal and superior performance. The Spider required no changes on the hood and side bodywork; however, the rear was completely redesigned. The buttresses act as roll-bars in addition to directing airflow to the engine cover by channeling airflow towards the rear radiators.

The Spider also features larger rear air scoops than the Italia. The larger scoops move air to the oil coolers and the repositioned engine air intakes. Unlike the glass cover of the Italia engine, the Spider features a modern cover with six air vents. Fuel efficiency is achieved on the Spider through Ferrari’s HELE (High Emotion, Low Emissions) concept.

The interior cockpit of the 458 Spider embraces premium materials to add driving pleasure as well as overall vehicle performance.
