The Ferrari California T set a new standard for high-performance GT convertibles. The exclusive Handling Speciale package was introduced in late 2016 and created for a sportier driving experience. Equipped with the same 553-hp 3.8L turbocharged V8 engine as the standard California T, this prancing horse is capable of reaching a top speed of 196 mph. The Ferrari California T’s Special Handling Package

With the California T’s Handling Speciale option, drivers can expect a series of specific calibrations and setup that lend to the extra edge when in the Manettino Sport Driving Mode. The California T’s SCM3 magnetorheological dampers and its front and rear springs have been modified for the Handling Speciale to provide a 16 percent increase in stiffness in the front and a 19 percent increase in the rear.

With the HS package, the F1-Trac logic system has also been adjusted to allow for enhancements in increased vehicle control and improved acceleration while exiting curves and traveling rough roads. The infamous howl of the Ferrari California T HS has been enriched with new geometry to increase progressively as the RPMs increase. The Handling Speciale howls a sportier growl than the standard California T, and there is a noticeable difference in the engine’s roar as well. The exhaust was developed in tandem with the engine and gearbox to underline the gains in performance with a more rapid response and improved sound and volume when driven hard, helping the California HS stand out from its siblings even more.

Aesthetically, the Ferrari California T HS package includes design tweaks to lend it an even sportier appearance. The rear diffuser and tailpipes are matte black, and the front grille’s Grigio Ferro Met (metallic silver) makes an immediate impression. Inside the cockpit of the California T is a special Handling Speciale plaque that indicates that the car sports the HS optional package and tie’s together the car’s performance and visual enhancements. And, of course, you can enjoy it all with the wind in your hair thanks to the car’s signature retractable hardtop, which cuts a striking figure on the streets of Indianapolis or on the highway to Milwaukee.
