In one sense, this limited-edition 812 might be thought of as what the engineers in Maranello always wanted the Superfast to be; but in another sense, it’s a stunning display of Ferrari’s commitment to pushing the envelope with every new release.

The Competizione’s beating heart is a modified version of the Superast’s naturally aspirated 6.5L V12 engine. Like the Superfast, the 812 Competizione channels its power through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, but you’ve more horsepower at your disposal, and at higher revs to boot: the Competizione produces 819 hp @ 9,500 rpm, an increase from the Superfast’s 800 hp @ 8,500 rpm.

Further Refinements to the 812 Special Series
This special edition of the 812 offers more than just increased revs and horsepower — it boasts refinements throughout its architecture. For instance, its V12 engine features a modified valve timing mechanism, a new coating of diamond-like carbon to its camshafts, and new variable geometry inlet tracts. The engine enhancements also work in unison with an upgraded exhaust system, which boasts an additional particulate filter and square-shaped tips.
Aerodynamic enhancements are present in spades as well. For starters, the Ferrari 812 Competizione weighs 3,278 pounds, down by over 300 pounds from the 812 Superfast’s 3,593 pounds. Together with a new aero kit and vortex generators, the 812 Competizione also produces 176 pounds of additional downforce compared to the 812 Superfast.
